Installing Concrete5

Since we believe that EVERYONE should have a website, we know that using Cpanel, PHP and HTML isn’t easy for all people and prevents a lot of people from creating there own website – specially if they don’t know a thing about technology. What do we say to people who want to create a website but don’t know how ? We say that you please read this tutorial about how to install Concrete5 – our recommended Content Management System for newbies in website design.

Before we start on this ultimately simple tutorial regarding how to install Concrete5 on your BASE.PK website, we are assuming that you’ve already created a free hosting account at BASE.PK – if you haven’t then create one asap!

STEP 1 – LOGIN TO CPANEL

The first thing you need to do to install Concrete5 on your BASE.PK hosting account is login to your Cpanel using your account details. You can check them using the account confirmation email that you received from us. Just visit our Cpanel at cpanel.base.pk and login with your username and password.

STEP 2 – OPEN THE SCRIPT INSTALLER

Once logged in, you’ll see your Cpanel Menu, the next step is to open the automatic script installer. You can find it under the Software/Services heading. It should look something like this,

Just select the Script Installer (the icon with the smile) and you’ll be taken to a page where it’ll ask you the domain on which you want to install Concrete5.

STEP 3 – CHOOSING DOMAIN AND SCRIPT

Just choose your domain name on which you want to install Concrete5 and you’ll see a list of available scripts that we offer for users – just scroll down and select Concrete5.

STEP 4 – CHOOSING DIRECTORY

It’ll ask you where you want to install Concrete5, just leave it as it is if you want it to be installed in the root (main) directory of your website. If you can’t understand what to do here, then just leave it as it is. And thats’s it – your website now has Concrete5 installed.
