Setting Up Email Using Outlook

Since we don’t offer custom email addresses (POP & IMAP) because of the chances of email spam using our servers, our users often have to face problems using a custom email address such as @yourdomain.com or @yourdomain.base.pk. To solve this issue, we have written a guide to help you use Microsoft’s Outlook to get a custom domain name for your website.

STEP 1 – GET A LIVE ACCOUNT

Go to http://domains.live.com and click on the get started link to sign in with your Windows Live / Outlook / Microsoft Account / Hotmail ID. If you don’t have one already, just follow the steps and create an account on Outlook.com.

STEP 3 – ADDING MX RECORDS

To add your domain which is hosted on BASE.PK to your account on Outlook, you need to add a Custom MX Record from your Cpanel. Just visit, cpanel.base.pk and login to your free hosting account. Once logged in, click on the MX Records option as shown below.

Just copy the MX server information from the Outlook page to the input box in your Cpanel and you are as good as done. The next step is option is optional but recommended, and that is to add the appropriate SPF Records as well to fight off email spam. You can find the information in your Outlook account and the images above show where the SPF Records option is located in the Cpanel,

STEP 4 – CREATING ACCOUNTS AND LOGGING IN

After this is done, just return to your My Domains page and add users for your respective domains, it’ll ask you about the email address they will have on your domain and their password. Just enter this information and sign in to your free email account using mail.live.com
